"Right near the art museum, Chicago Symphony " and Grant Park, this huge, "older" convention site remains an "accommodating" "favorite" "for events" in the South Loop, with "conference and party rooms galore" and "nice-sized rooms" ("some with two bathrooms" and "great views of the lake"); but while it "recalls the days of grand hotels" – note the "classic double marble staircases" – iconoclasts argue this "institution" is "showing her age" ("erratic service", "so-so restaurants"), and it's just too "isolated" for the business crowd.

The rooms and public areas were very classically designed.
The room was small and inconvenient, they charge for Wi-Fi, and want to charge for everything else too.

The area around the hotel is a little dark.
This is a beautiful hotel. The room we stayed in was very large. I would recommend it to anyone looking to visit Chicago.

The staff was helpful with regard to internet problems I experienced.
The extras were very expensive! Overnight parking was 43.00 per night!
Very nice. However, like hotels usually do when they give you the room with the poorest view, close to the elevators, etc. I wouldn't recommend the Pavilion restaurant because it was too expensive for what you got. Also, the overnight parking was outrageously priced! ...read more
